these waves are called beach waves... here is a few ideas and websites to create them...

Idea 1)

For a fast, quick-drying version of beachy waves, towel-dry hair and comb out hair. Spray mousse in your palm (baseball-size if you have long hair, golf ball-size if it's shoulder-length or shorter). Tilt your head to the size and scrunch mousse from the ends on up on one side, then repeat on the other side. Let hair air-dry, scrunching every so often as it dries. DON'T brush hair out.

Turn upside down and spray freshly washed roots with volumizing or texturizing spray. Massage it in I like Bumble and Bumble or you can try Aveda volumizing tonic .

If hair is naturally coarse or curly, work a straightening balm through hair. Here's a great list of balms.

Brush hair (this works the product evenly through hair). Blowdry hair straight, starting at the roots to get extra volume. Hair must be completely dry for this look to work. Blow cold air at the roots to add volume (cold air locks in a style).

Separate hair into three sections, securing with a ponytail holder. (It's easier this way to curl your way through each section).

To curl hair, use a wide-barrel curling iron. Starting with one section, take a 1-inch portion of hair, spritz it with styling spray (again, I love Bumble and Bumble Styling Spray) or hairspray. Wrap hair around the barrel of the curling iron. (Wrapping hair is different from the traditional curling method. You don't want to 'clip' hair into the barrel. Wrapping allows you to curl all the way to the root). When you're curling, make sure to leave ends loose to avoid a crimp mark.

Release the curl after about 5-10 seconds (hold longer if you want a tighter curl). You should have a corkscrew curl.

Roll curl and bobby pin it close to the scalp. (I'm lazy, so I skip this step to save time).

Alternate the direction of the curl as you work your way through each section. (It's all in the direction you wind hair around the barrel of the curling iron. Start by placing hair on top of the barrel and wrapping around, then switch by putting the barrel on top of the hair before winding it around). Alternating directions makes curls look more natural. Some curls can remain tight, some loose.

Once pinned curls have cooled, release them.

Remove nozzle from dryer and gently loosen waves with cool air. You can also separate curls with your fingers, just make sure not to brush them out.

To add shine, spritz a hair serum . You can forego hair serum and spritz with saltwater spray. I like John Frieda Beach Blonde Ocean Waves Sea spray.

Set with hairspray. Just don't overdo it, you don't want new waves to feel ';crunchy.';

Idea 2) Start with clean hair. This way you don't have to worry about product build up interferring with your curls. Shampoo your hair as normal. Deep condition for 20 minutes with a plastic cap. This way your hair will hold moisture longer and shine.

Step 2Once hair is dry, moisturize your hair in sections. Use a light water-based moisturizer (not oily), or a light cream conditioner. Be sure to completely moisturize from root to tip without super saturating. Lightly apply a natural oil, coconut, olive or grapeseed will do just fine.

Step 3Comb and detangle hair with wide tooth or small tooth comb as appropriate. Separate hair into two sections by parting from ear to ear.

Step 4Apply a setting lotion very lightly to each section of hair. Brush each section into an individual pony. Now take the loose pony and wrap it around the scrunchy and tuck the ends in with a hair pin. ( Wrap hair like you would a chignon)

Step 5Finish with a light spray of oil sheen. Tie hair with satin scarf and wear overnight. The next morning, undo both ponys and finger comb into a style of your choice. Use more oil sheen if you desire more shine.

Idea 3)

1Start with clean dry hair. You can either use the hair that you woke up with--which works better if your hair is naturally straight--or, if you have curly or wavy hair, you will want to wash it and then either let it dry naturally or blow dry it. Always apply heat protecting spray when you are going to use thermal styling tools.

Step 2Tease your hair at the root for more volume at the top. Hold sections up, spray at the root with hairspray and brush downward in quick strokes. This step is optional if you don't like to tease your hair or feel you already have enough volume.

Step 3Take 1-inch sections at a time. Clamp a narrow flat iron starting at the top of each section and turn it 180 degrees so it creates a curve. Only hold it for a few seconds and let go--don't tug or pull it down. Do this down each section to create as many waves as you want.

Step 4Spray a little hairspray when you are done to help hold the waves in place and to give them a slightly scrunchy feel.

How do I get my natural curls back?

I've straightened my hair every day for about two months. My nautral hair is extremely curly. After taking a shower, it doesn't curl anymore. Instead, it comes out pin straight.

I curled it with the same straightner i used before for about four months, but my hair still comes out straight. I've asked this question before and a few people said to use a defuser.

So far, I've been using a defuser for a week.

How long will i have to use it until my hair starts curling again?

And is there anything else i can do to get my hair to curl again, fast? How do I get my natural curls back?
just go get a perm or something if you miss them curls%26lt;3How do I get my natural curls back?
well make sure you don't use the straightener anymore; at least until your hair goes naturally curly again. :P
try cutting it
stop straightening your hair. Maybe your hair is too long and too heavy so its weighed down.

Use bobby pins to curl your hair.

you could put it in plaits overnight, or in curlers?
You could use cold wave rods. You can wash your hair, put hair mousse in it and roll it up. You get a beautiful curl that lasts for at least 3 days if done right.
u could wash it and put mouse in it, only if your hair is naturally curly or wavey tho.. or you could put rollers in before you go to bed,, or you could always just put it up in a nice messy bun and keep a fringe or two strands at the front or you could put it up in a quiff. you could put you hair in very loose plaits on damp hair over night to create a beach hair look.

Help me? conair straightner problem.?

Okay so ive had a conair straightner/curling iron with ceramic platessince 7th grade ( i am in 9th grade now) My hair has gone from sleek wavyish, to hella fryed up an frizzy wavy hair because of straightning i assume since i never blowdry my hair..

anyway i want to know if its because ive been straightening my hair for 2 years but in the middle of 8th grade i started using heat protection or because its a crappy straighter?

anyone who has this straightner, tell me how ur hair is after using this.

also am i damaging my hair?

all year 8th grade i washed and straightened my hair everyday.

this year in 9th grade, i straighten it about 3 times a week.

my hair is like really fryed up and yeah,

ia there anything i can do to repair it?Help me? conair straightner problem.?
I'd recommend getting some heat protection spray from sallys. They have the best. Either the silk elements or the ion brand. Tresemme products don't work for me at all I wouldn't recommend them. They also have some shampoo and conditioner from sallys called Biotera. It works really good. If you use the heat protection spray with a good conditioner your hair will start to get healthier.Help me? conair straightner problem.?
I also own a Conair but now I've upgraded to a Sedu 1'; straightener. This can be purchased at folica.com

You should also buy a higher quality straightener because that is less damaging to your hair.. cheap drugstore ones aren't made with real ceramic plates which can be damaging to your hair.

I would also check out the ozonhair.com website because their irons are highly rated as well.

Also, try a deep conditioner (Garner Fructis) to help restore your hair..

hopefully this helped! :)
You might be setting the heat up to high, if your hair is finer and smoother then you need to have it on a lower setting.

It also might be because of the shampoo and conditioner you are using, I find that Tresemme works the best for restoring my hair and keeping it healthy

How do I activate my natural spiral curly hair to how it used to be before chemical straightening?? HELP!!?

I used a chemical straightner in my hair over a year ago. I did it twice with about a month of time rest between the sessions. It was called Easy Straight.

Ever since then, my hair was never completely straight (like the box said it would be) and it was never curly like it used to be.

I miss my curly curly hair and have been tryin different things to make it activate again. I cut it to my shoulders (it used to be to the middle of my back), used deep conditioners, used ';scrunch'; gel, curl activator cremes, sprays, oils... nothing seems to help my spiral come back...

I'm wondering if the curl is damaged at the root? does anybody whos done perms know what to use to help the curl come back?? I desperately want my curls back.

Thank you.

PS: I have a mixed hair type. Thick, semi course, but soft.

it is now a little below my shoulders. I have colored and highlighted it in the past months too.
